Single Colour Wraps

Are They Cheaper?

Single colour wraps

Single colour wraps, as the name suggests, utilise only one colour in their design. But does this simplicity make them cheaper? Let’s find out!

Wrap Cost Considerations

Design Complexity

As there is no design involved in a single colour wrap, this results in cost savings as you arent paying a designer to design the wrap.

Material Costs

As a full colour change wrap is using the same amount of materials as a full commercial wrap. The materials are the same, so would cost the same.

Printing Expenses

As a full colour change wrap is using the same amount of printing as a full commercial wrap, it requires the same level of resources and investment. The process of printing remains unchanged, resulting in equivalent costs for both types of wraps.

Installation Complexity

For a full colour change wrap there is more work involved as you would need to go into the door jam gaps. Wrapping in the door jams is so you cannot see the original paint from the outside. Once you open the door you will still see it. To wrap a door jam, you need to take the door off the vehicle, which is quite difficult, and therefor more costly.

Pricing of a single colour vehicle wrap

Single colour wraps are pretty much the same price as if you were to be wrapping a design on your vehicle. But there would be no design fee.

Sometimes single colour wraps are actually more expensive as customers expect a colour change finish.

Commercial wraps with a design on them, you don’t have to worry about the door gaps for the wrap. This is just wrapping the face of the car, and the surface of the car.

If you are changing the colour of a car, you would expect perfection, and the colour to change in all the surfaces of the car. In all the door gaps.

People do use wraps to colour change a vehicle, but it is often on more expensive cars, as it is an expensive process. Pricing to do a full colour change wrap on a vehicle could be anywhere from $5-$8k. This is quite a technical thing to do as lots of parts of the vehicle needs to be taken apart.

For a colour change wrap there is more work involved as you would need to go into the door jam gaps. So you cannot see the original paint from the outside. But once you open the door you will still see it. To wrap a door jam, you need to take the door off the vehicle.

Parts that are taken off a car in order to wrap it are;

  • Door handles
  • Door mirrors
  • Tail lights
  • Flare guards (sometimes as they are tricky to get back on in the exact same position on some vehicles)
